Jeremiah
God's heart breaks over sin and the destructive choices we make that harm ourselves and others. Jeremiah, known as the 'weeping prophet,' carried the weight of God's grief over his people's rebellion. His tears reflect God's heart—not distant or cold, but deeply grieved by our rebellion. While judgment is necessary because we've sinned against a righteous God, it's not God's delight. He is patient, not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. Sin promises joy but delivers wounds, exile, and despair. People search everywhere for comfort and satisfaction, but they'll only find it in Jesus Christ. Like the father in the prodigal son story, God eagerly awaits our return with open arms, no matter what we've done or how greatly we've failed. Through the cross of Christ, we find redemption, forgiveness, healing, and our true identity. The healing balm is available, yet many still refuse the cure. Jesus, the Great Physician, came not for the healthy but for the sick, offering rest to all who are weary and burdened.
